Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 1.75mm 500g
The Polymaker Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is a high-performance carbon fiber reinforced nylon (polyamide) filament designed for demanding industrial 3D printing applications, offering an optimal balance of strength, stiffness, heat resistance, and reduced moisture sensitivity. This specific product is a 500g spool with a 1.75mm diameter filament in black color.
Key features
- Material: A unique copolymer of Nylon 6 (PA6) and Nylon 12 (PA12), reinforced with 15% chopped carbon fibers by weight.
- Moisture Resistance: Thanks to its long-chain PA612 structure, it exhibits significantly lower moisture sensitivity and less property degradation in humid environments compared to traditional PA6 or PA66-based materials.
- Mechanical Strength: The carbon fiber reinforcement delivers high stiffness, exceptional tensile strength (up to 92 MPa in dry state), and durability, making it ideal for high-load structural components.
- Dimensional Stability: Features Polymaker’s proprietary Warp-Free™ technology for excellent dimensional stability and minimal warpage during the printing process, even for large or complex parts.
- Heat Resistance: Offers excellent thermal stability, with a heat deflection temperature of up to 175°C at 0.45 MPa after the recommended annealing process (100°C for 16 hours).
- Layer Adhesion: Utilizes Fiber-Adhesion™ technology to improve Z-axis layer adhesion, resulting in more isotropic parts that are strong in all directions.
- Applications: Suitable for a wide range of industrial uses, including high-load components in mechanical engineering, precision jigs and fixtures, lightweight automotive parts, drone components, and end-use functional prototypes.
Printing settings
- Nozzle Temperature: 250–300°C. An all-metal hotend and abrasion-resistant nozzle (such as hardened steel) are required due to the abrasive nature of the carbon fibers.
- Heated Bed Temperature: 40–50°C (do not exceed 50°C).
- Cooling Fan: OFF.
- Printing Speed: Up to 300 mm/s.
- Filament Handling: The material is moisture-sensitive and should be stored in a dry environment (below 20% RH) and thoroughly dried before printing to maintain optimal performance.
